Eligibility Programs System Administration > Eligibility Programs |
The Eligibility Programs category allows you to set up StaffSuite so that it automatically tracks employee hours for the purpose of earning benefits, vacation pay, sick pay, holiday pay, etc. To help you maintain these incentive programs, StaffSuite automatically tracks an employee's participation in these programs and maintains a historical record of program goals met and rewards given. Programs can be added to everyone, all employees, all contractors, or only selected individuals.

There are two types of programs:
Accrued Incentive: Hours are accumulated by PayBill Codes that have been flagged to be included in eligibility calculations. Each program has a specific duration, defined by effective dates. In addition, there is an accumulation period designating when hours are actually accumulated. A program can be triggered to start based on number of hours worked and/or a number of days that have passed since the hire date. Once the program is triggered, a rate of accumulation toward payout can be defined. Finally, an award trigger, indicating the point at which the employee can receive the reward, can be based on the number of hours earned toward the award and/or the number of days that have passed since a specific date. In summation, an accrual program accumulates hours at a set rate toward an incentive award.
Advanced Incentive: An incentive amount is awarded at the inception of the program. In other words, the employee gets the incentive up front and the system tracks the payout only (rather than accumulation toward the incentive).
Eligibility Programs work based on the following assumptions:
All program terms are based on a 365 day calendar year (leap years are not included in the calculations).
If a contractor has an eligibility program on file, he/she accumulates the same as an employee.
