System Controlled Employee Temporary Statuses

If an employee is in any of the statuses below, you cannot change that status. Please click on the status name to see more detailed information:

Future Filled

This status indicates that the employee is scheduled for an assignment beginning in the future. In System Administration, the Staffing Service Default window allows you to determine how many days before an assignment begins an employee should be classified as Working. These are called Future Fill Days. When an employee is filled on an assignment, the system checks the start date to see if it is within the number of Future Fill Days. If so, the status becomes Working. If not, the status becomes Future Filled. For example, if an employee is set to start an assignment 5 days from now, his or her status will show working if the Future Fill Days is -5 or less.
Probably Available

This status indicates that the employee is scheduled to come off of an assignment and therefore, is probably available for a new assignment. In System Administration, the Staffing Service Default window allows you to determine whether you want to use the Probably Available status and the number of days before an assignment is scheduled to end that an employee is considered probably available for another assignment. These are called Probably Available Trigger Days. The employee's status remains working until they are within the Probably Available Trigger Days. Once within the Trigger Days, the status becomes Probably Available. For example, if an assignment's end date is March 9 and the Probably Available Trigger Days is set to -3, then on March 6, the employee's temp status will change to Probably Available. NOTE: If you decide not to use the Probably Available status (selectable on the Staffing Service Default screen), then any employee that would normally be Probably Available will be considered Working.
Working

This status generally indicates that the employee is currently working on an assignment. However, there are two exceptions. If the employee is scheduled to work on an assignment and the number of days left before the assignment begins is less than the Future Fill Days, then the employee will have a status of Working (even though they haven't actually started the assignment). Also, if an employee is about to end an assignment and the number of days left until the close of the assignment is less than the Probably Available Trigger Days, then the employee's status will be Probably Available (even though they are still currently working on an assignment).
Terminated, Ineligible for Rehire

This indicates that an employee worked for the staffing service at one time, but they are no longer available for assignments. NOTE: As long as the employee's status is terminated, he or she cannot be filled on an assignment. However, a user with the appropriate security level can reactivate the employee.
Terminated, Eligible for Rehire

This indicates that, while the employee is not currently available for assignment, he or she might be considered in the future provided certain events occur. NOTE: As long as the employee's status is terminated, he or she cannot be filled on an assignment. However, a user with the appropriate security level can reactivate the employee.

User Controlled Employee Temporary Statuses

While these statuses may be set by an action taken within the system, you can change that status (but only to another user-controlled status). Please click on the status name to see more detailed information:

Available

This indicates that the employee is available for work and has already worked on at least one assignment. This is the status most commonly used when an employee has finished an assignment and is ready to be placed on another.
No Recent Contact

This status indicates that you have not had contact with the employee for some time. While this status is automatically set based on information entered on the Staffing Service Default window in System Administration, you can also set this status manually.
Short Term Inactive

This status indicates that the employee is unavailable for a short period of time (due to vacation, illness, school, etc.). The duration and next status of the employee can be set when changing the employee's status to short-term inactive. This does not prevent you from filling the employee on an assignment, but does prevent the employee from showing up in a search for immediately available employees.
Long Term Inactive

This status indicates that the employee is unavailable for an extended period of time (due to a move, assignment with another service, etc.). The duration and next status of the employee can be set when changing the employee's status to long-term inactive. This does not prevent you from filling the employee on an assignment, but does prevent the employee from showing up in a search for immediately available and future available employees.
Do Not Use

This status indicates that the employee is not available for assignment and has never worked on any assignment for the staffing service (for example, you might discover something during the interview that would cause you to decide never to send the employee out on assignment).
New

This status indicates that the employee is available for work, but has not worked on an assignment for the staffing service yet. This is usually a status associated with newly entered employees.
Direct-Hire Only

This status indicates that the employee is only interested in a direct-hire position.
WorldLink

This status indicates that the employee added themselves through WorldLink.

System Controlled Employee Direct-Hire Statuses

If an employee is in any of the statuses below, you cannot change that status. Please click on the status name to see more detailed information:

Placed

This status indicates that the employee has been placed on a Position and the actual start date of the position is NOT equal or prior to the current date (in which case the status becomes Working). Thus, once an employee is placed on a position, whether they have begun working or not, his/her status becomes Placed.
Working

Indicates that the employee has been placed on a position and the actual start date is equal or prior to the current date.

User Controlled Employee Direct-Hire Statuses

Available/Unemployed

Indicates that the employee is available for interviews and is currently unemployed.
Available/Employed

Indicates the employee is available for interviews and is currently employed.
Resume Only

Indicates that the employee has not been interviewed/hired by the staffing service and only has a resume on file.
Short Term Inactive

This status indicates that the employee is unavailable for a short period of time (due to vacation, illness, school, etc.). The duration and next status of the employee can be set when changing the employee's status to short-term inactive.
Long Term Inactive

This status indicates that the employee is unavailable for an extended period of time (due to a move, assignment with another service, etc.). The duration and next status of the employee can be set when changing the employee's status to long-term inactive.
No Recent Contact

Competitor Hired

Indicates that a competitor filled the employee in a position.
New

Indicates the employee has just been added to the system (normally the default for all newly added employees).

This status indicates that the employee is not available for placement on a position (for example, you might discover something during the interview that would cause you to decide never to place the employee in a position).
Temporary Only

Indicates the employee is only interested in working temporary assignments.
WorldLink

Indicates that the employee added themselves through WorldLink.
