Customizing the Navigator Pane |
You can perform the following customizations to the Navigator. You can click on an option below to be taken directly to detailed instructions:
Auto-Hiding removes the Navigator when you are not using it while allowing easy access to it when you need it.
At the top of the Navigator pane, click the icon that looks like a pushpin.
The pushpin icon now points to the left. This means that the auto-hide feature is on. In addition, a Navigator tab appears to the far left of the screen (just below the ribbon). If you move the mouse cursor to a different area of the screen (like the Detail pane or the Main Grid), the Navigator goes away. To re-display the Navigator, hover the mouse pointer over the Navigator tab (you don't have to click the tab).
To turn off auto-hide, re-display the Navigator (see step 2) and click on the pushpin icon again.
Hiding the Navigator removes the Navigator from the StaffSuite screen.
At the top of the Navigator pane, click the icon that looks like an "x".
To re-display the Navigator, select the File tab at the top of the ribbon. On the File screen, select Options. From the Options display, select Show/Hide and then click on Show/Hide Navigator.
Adding/Removing Buttons To/From the Navigator
Right-click in the Buttons area (lower section of the Navigator) and select Navigation Pane Options.... This opens the Navigation Pane Options window.
To add/remove a button from the Navigator, click on the checkbox next to the button name. A check indicates that the button will display on the Navigator. An empty checkbox indicates that the button will not display on the Navigator. Clicking on the checkbox toggles it between checked and unchecked.
When you are satisfied with your changes, click OK.
Rearranging Buttons on the Navigator
Right click in the Buttons area (lower section of the Navigator) and select Navigation Pane Options.... This opens the Navigation Pane Options window.
In the Display buttons in this order area, click on the button name (not the checkbox).
Click on the Move Up or Move Down button to select where you want the button to display.
When you are finished, click OK.
Resetting the Navigator displays all buttons and places them in their system-delivered order.
Right click in the Buttons area (lower section of the Navigator) and select Navigation Pane Options.... This opens the Navigation Pane Options window.
Click the Reset button.
Click OK.
Click the light bulb icon above (upper right) or click the back arrow below to return to the Navigator topic. From there, you can return to the StaffSuite's Main Window topic and explore a different part of StaffSuite's main window or continue your step-by-step introduction to StaffSuite.
