Edit Lists Concepts |
No two staffing services are exactly alike. One service may use letters as an overall rating for employees while another might use numbers. One service might want general information from a report while another might like specifics. StaffSuite was designed with flexibility in mind. The edit lists allow you to customize StaffSuite to fit your needs.
System and User-Defined Edit Lists
Edit lists are divided into three categories:
User-Defined: These are edit lists determined by your staffing service and thus, may be modified. For example, Employee Acquisition Source allows you to select how an employee was acquired. Since this list may be different for different staffing services, StaffSuite allows you to determine what options display when the Employee Acquisition Source field is accessed. Edit list values can be inactivated so their history is retained, but they cannot be selected.
NOTE: When an employee's resume is parsed for skills in Add A Document, the user-defined edit list skills maintained in StaffSuite are supplemented during the parsing process by an extensive system delivered skill list that is part of the parsing tool. This system delivered list is used during parsing to suggest skills that are included in an employee's resume, but cannot be included in the employee record because they are not in the edit list. Any skills that should be added to the employee record in the future, must be added by the System Administrator. Click here for more information about adding skills to an edit list.
System-Defined: These are edits lists determined by Bond and thus, cannot be changed. For example, the State field allows you to specify a state for address purposes. Since the list would be the same for any staffing service, Bond creates this edit list for you.
Activity Explanations and Results: Many activities in StaffSuite have specific edit lists to record explanation and results. These choices can be viewed and edited.

System Wide and Branch Specific Edit Lists
Further, all edit lists are divided into system-wide and branch-specific lists:
System-Wide: A system-wide edit list is applicable to all branches. For example, if you wanted all employees to be rated using the same codes, you would create a system-wide rating code edit list.
Branch-Specific: A branch-specific edit list is applicable only to a specific branch. For example, if you wanted to design an edit list that is applicable to only one branch, you would create a branch-specific edit list. A relocation code of "Beverly Hills" may make perfect sense of the Los Angeles branch, but would hardly apply to the Chicago branch. Thus, the relocation edit list would be branch-specific so that each branch would have its own Relocation edit list. Any user-defined edit list can be made branch-specific.
