How Security Works |
OK...now that we've got an idea how security works, let's set up security for a new staffing service rep.
The Setting
Suppose your system is set up to do the following (granted, this is not a typical set-up, but is useful for demonstration purposes):
Four branches (A, B, C, D) which have full access security with each other
A Branch Manager title with access to all functions
A Coordinator title with access to all functions except Assignment
A Receptionist title with access to "Basic" windows only.
The Problem
You have a new staffing service rep who is coming on as a Branch Manager of branch A. You would like them to have access to all branches except for D. Additionally, you would like the rep to have Coordinator access in branch B and Receptionist access in branch C. Here's a graphical view of this arrangement:
Now, try to determine what you would do to set this rep up properly. Remember, by default, the Rep will have Branch Manager title security in branches A, B, C, and D (because the system gives the rep access to all branches that can be accessed by his/her home branch AND it gives the rep the same title access in all accessible branches as the rep has in his/her home branch).
