The Batch Post takes the transactions entered into the batch and places them in a "bucket" so that the payroll and billing processes can create checks and invoices. In addition, information is sent to Sales Analysis so you can create reports based on the most up-to-date data.
Since you may not change any transactions in a batch after it has been posted, it is important to make sure there are no errors (by using the Proof Timesheet functionality) in the batch.
In essence, a Batch Post says, "The information in the batch is correct. Go ahead and commit it to the database."
