Change Status allows you to choose how the status of an assignment/position will be changed. Multiple assignments can also be selected in the Assignments Grid and mass completed all at once. The current status of the assignments determines how the status will be changed.

Due to the similar nature of some of the status changing activities, here is a run-down of when to use each activity:
Use Cancel when an assignment has not been filled (or has been filled but never started) AND the company tells you that they do not need it filled. If this activity is part of a Mass Activity Complete, the status must be Open or Filled. After a Mass Complete, an Open status will become Cancelled before Filled, and a Filled status will become Cancelled After Filled.
Use Unable to Fill when an assignment cannot be filled with your current resources, even though the company would like to have it filled. If this activity is part of a Mass Activity Complete, the status must be Open.
Use Reopen Assignment to reopen a filled assignment because you filled it with the wrong employee. If this activity is part of a Mass Activity Complete, the status must be either Cancelled Before Filled, or Unable to be Filled.
Use Reactivate Assignment to reactivate an assignment that was closed accidentally AND there has been no gap in service. If this activity is part of a Mass Activity Complete, the status must be Closed.
Use Close Assignment if you are closing an assignment that has an employee current working on it. If this activity is part of a Mass Activity Complete, the status must be Filled.
Use Refill Assignment when you are refilling an assignment with another employee. This activity is not available for Mass Activity Complete.
Use Extend Assignment when the company asks that you extend a current assignment past its original estimated end date. If this activity is part of a Mass Activity Complete, the status must be Filled.
The following options are available (click on the option for more information):
Cancel: Allows you to record that an assignment is being cancelled and the company no longer requires that it be filled.
Unable to Fill: Allows you to record that an assignment cannot be filled with your current resources (e.g., no one with the necessary qualifications).
ReOpen: Allows you to record that you reopened an assignment with a status of filled, canceled, or unable to fill.
ReActivate: Allows you to record that you reactivated a closed assignment with no gap in service.
