This allows you to create payroll checks and print invoices based on the data posted. In addition, you can run sales analysis report based on the information contained in the posted batch.

Yes. You may post one or many batches at the same time. A batch post selection screen makes it easy to choose multiple batches.

However, you are restricted to batches of the same type. In other words, you can post multiple timesheet batches at the same time, but you can't post a timesheet batch and a balance forward batch at the same time.

Yes. In fact, that's one of the great things about batches. If someone else is working on a batch, you don't have to wait for them to finish before posting your batch (even if their batch contains the same types of transactions).

Before posting, the system performs a proof on the batches selected. During the proofing process, you receive three types of information.

The first is a hash totals screen which allows you to compare various totals generated by the system with those in your own records. This is an excellent way to perform a quick check.

The second is a number of reports generated during the proof process that detail the transactions entered into the batch.

The third is a diagnostic report which notes any possible discrepancies in the batch transactions (for example, the employee has two timesheets for the same pay period).

After checking these three information types, you have the option of continuing with the post process or cancelling out of the process so you can edit the batch.

If you continue with the post process, the system produces three reports that detail the transactions posted in the batch (including a diagnostic report).

No. Once a batch has been posted, it cannot be edited.

However, during the posting process, the system runs a proof on the batch and gives you the option of continuing with the post process or cancelling out to edit the transactions.

If you cancel out to edit the transactions, you may rerun the proof or post process (which again, will run a proof before posting).

Depending on the batch type, the transactions are committed to the database and update various information on the system. For example, payments are recorded against open invoices and new balances are created. Adjustments are calculated and new balances are generated. And so on.

Also, data is entered into a "bucket" so that you can create payroll checks and generate billing invoices.

Finally, sales analysis files are updated allowing you to see updated sales information.
